Large crowd attends MSRPO
2006 Annual Meeting; candidates
take notice
On October 4th, 2006, MSRPO held its Annual Meeting at
the Ramada Mall of America.
Speakers at the meeting included candidates for governor
Mike Hatch and Peter Hutchinson, State Senator Bill
Belanger, ranking Republican on the Senate tax Committee,
and Rep.
Ann Lenczewski, who may well be the next Chair of the House
tax Committee.
A full room, lots of questions, and good discussion
clearly illustrated for these key policy makers that the
property tax system as it regards seasonal property is
unfair, has no relationship to a person's ability to pay,
and creates strong disincentives towards sound stewardship
of shore lines and forests.
Video of the meeting is online. Please note: the video
files are quite large and a high-speed Internet connection
is required to view
them.
As always, we hope
you'll stay in touch! Visit MSRPO's public
forum to share
your thoughts.
